Sound design
Effects, ambiences and designed moments that make a scene feel real, or bigger than real, for drama, ads, trailers and documentaries.
Audio post · Sound is where we began
Alokick began in 2017 as a sound studio in Indore, and sound is still where we listen first. We design, record, edit and mix sound for films, web series, micro-dramas, commercials and podcasts, including the music, sound design and foley for Vision11's films with Shruti Haasan, Salim–Sulaiman and the Chennai Super Kings.
What's included
Picture tells people where to look. Sound tells them how to feel. Our audio post covers every layer, from a footstep to the final master.
01
Effects, ambiences and designed moments that make a scene feel real, or bigger than real, for drama, ads, trailers and documentaries.
02
Footsteps, cloth, props and touches performed to picture, so a scene has weight even when the location sound has none.
03
Noise, hum, echo, clicks and uneven levels removed or reduced, and lines re-recorded when a take can't be saved.
04
Background score, stings and music edits cut to picture, written in-house or chosen with you. See music production.
05
Dialogue, music and effects balanced for the screen it plays on, from a cinema to a television to a phone speaker.
06
Final masters to each platform's loudness spec, plus stems and a music-and-effects track for dubbing when you need them.

Press play with headphones on. We did the music, sound design, foley, mix and master on the Vision11 and Raybands films, and the sound and music for the UP Pro Volleyball League's campaign.

Mixed for real life
Much of what we finish is watched on a phone, often without headphones, on a bus or in a noisy room. So we mix for that: dialogue that cuts through, low end that still reads on a small speaker, and loudness that doesn't jump between episodes or between your ad and the one before it.
Then we check the same mix on studio monitors and headphones, because the film should sound right everywhere, not only on the device we expect.
For platforms with published loudness specs, we mix and master to them and can deliver the stems, so a later version or a dubbed one can be made without starting again.
How a mix comes together
We watch the cut with you and mark what each scene needs to sound like.
Lines edited, cleaned and levelled; re-recorded where needed.
Effects, ambiences and foley built scene by scene.
Score and music edits placed and shaped around the dialogue.
Balanced, checked on several systems, and mastered to spec.
Final mixes, stems and music-and-effects tracks, named for each platform.
Questions
Sound design creates and places the sounds: effects, ambiences, foley and designed moments. Mixing balances everything, dialogue, music and effects, so the whole film sounds right on the screen it plays on. Most projects need both.
Yes. Foley is part of our sound design work, including on our Vision11 films, where we did the music, sound design, foley, mix and master.
Often, yes. Noise, hum, echo and uneven levels can usually be reduced a long way. When a line can't be saved, we re-record it and fit it to picture.
The one your platform or broadcaster specifies. Tell us where the film will be released, or send the delivery spec, and we'll master to it.
Yes. We deliver stems and a music-and-effects track with the final mix when you need them, so dubbed and re-cut versions can be made later.
Yes. We do sound for single films and for whole slates, including micro-drama series delivered on daily schedules.
